At SCU we are commited to both spreading the good news of salvation through faith in Jesus as presented in God's word, the Bible and also to teaching and training each other in righteousness to become more and more like Jesus in our living. Our timetable for each term is therefore shaped around achieving this end as best we can. We have two main meetings where this is done.
Our main meeting takes place in E7 during Thursday Breaktimes 10:40-11:00am. Here we meet for a quick burst of bible teaching and encouragement as well as it being our main source of outreach to the school.
CU:Later is run by Youth For Christ (YFC) and is after school on a Monday@3:05 (till 4:30) in E7 (same room as CU). Here we meet for snacks and a thorough bible study through a passage in God's word. It's designed to be a fun and informal addition to our meetings in school time, to encourage each other and to learn from God's word. ALL are most welcome to attend.
WHAT IS A CU ANYWAY?
Christian Unions are student led mission teams operating at the very heart of the UK’s universities and colleges. They exist for one reason – to share the good news of the gospel to a generation without Jesus and without hope. CU's are not there to be a fun meeting place for Christians, but instead are outreach teams. The members may be from very different backgrounds but united in their love for Christ and their desire to make him known in the unique mission field of the school.
If you are a Christian or not and want to join our CU, you're most welcome to get in touch with us or come along to our meetings on a Thursday break time in E7. We'd love to see you there!
